Can We Hold Neck In Kabaddi?

No one is allowed to hold a neck in Kabaddi. A raider may not be grabbed or held by his clothes, hair, or any other art of his body other than his limbs and torso. Holding a player by the neck can be very dangerous as it can risk their life.

Basics of Kabaddi

  • The toss will happen between both of the teams and the team who will win the toss will decide whether they want to raid first or defend first.
  • If your team goes first, send a raider across the midline.
  • In this game, the teams take turns sending players known as raiders. The raider will go across the midline to the other team’s side of the court. The raider have a duty of tagging members of the other team and then run back to his side in 30 seconds.
  • Each player the raider will touch equal one point for his team if he makes it back safely.
  • On the other hand, if your team is being raided, so you and the other three players in play are anti-raiders. You aim is to keep the raider from tagging you and crossing back over the midline.
  • You can do this eariledy by running away from him until he runs out of breath.
  • Take turns alternating between raiding and defending, as the two teams alternate between raiding and defending for two halves of twenty minutes each.
  • After the halftime, both of the teams will switch sides of the court.
